ASPEN, Colo. (AP) — Ice jams in western Colorado have prompted the National Weather Service to post a flood advisory for rivers in Pitkin and Garfield counties.

Authorities reported an ice jam causing elevated river flows along the lower Roaring Fork and Fryingpan rivers on Saturday evening. There were no immediate reports of damage.

The Weather Service warned that debris along with large chunks of ice will result in sudden rises in water flows.

The flood advisory was in effect until 4:45 p.m. Monday.
