DENVER — After such a hot stretch, a few days of cooler temperatures has been quite welcome for Colorado.

The weather pattern will stay a little cooler with a good chance for more much needed rain for the next couple of days.

For the few days, expect partly cloudy mornings and stormy afternoons, especially in the mountains and the I-25 Corridor.

The risk of severe weather will be low, but we could see some pockets of heavy rain. A number of Flash Flood Watches have been issued for the San Juans, the San Luis Valley and the Sangre de Cristos.

Temperatures will still top out in the mid to upper 80s again on Wednesday. There will be a slight chance of storms along the Front Range and across the metro area as well as the northeast plains.

In the mountains, temperatures will be cooler in the 60s and 70s. During thunderstorms, mountain temperatures will dip into the 50s, so dress in layers!

Later in the week, hotter and drier conditions will return to Colorado.
