DENVER — It's going to be a bitter cold start to 2019! Temperatures by tomorrow morning will be near zero degrees.
The winds picked up across the northern plains as our cold front rolled into the state. Wind chills have dropped to zero across the Denver metro area and it's going to get even colder tonight.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Denver and the Front Range. We'll see snow develop this morning, with around 1-3 inches for Denver, 3-6 inches along the Palmer Divide and 4 -8 inches in the Foothills. Little to no accumulation is expected to the north near Greeley and Fort Collins.
Skies will gradually clear out overnight and that's when the bitter cold air will settle in. We'll see wind chills at about 10 to 20 degrees below zero on the plains. A wind chill advisory has been issued for all of northeastern Colorado through early Tuesday morning.
It will be a cold start to 2019, but temperatures are expected to rise to the 40s by Wednesday, and near 50 degrees to round out the week.
