DENVER — It was a gorgeous, unseasonably warm 70+ degree day in the Denver metro to kick off the week! The warm and dry weather pattern lingers for another 24-hours before a brief cool off comes our way.
Tonight, look for mostly clear skies and very mild temperatures statewide. Overnight lows will dip into the mid to upper 30s.
We're in for mostly sunny skies early Tuesday along with afternoon highs in the upper 60s to low 70s along the Urban Corridor. The northeastern corner of the plains will stay a bit cooler, with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Clouds will slowly increase as the day goes on as a weak cold front is expected to move through the area Tuesday evening.
The front will usher in a bit of light snow to the northern and central mountains. So far, it looks like less than a couple of inches of new snow. Meanwhile the northeastern plains could pick up a few sprinkles or a brief rain shower, with the best chance closer to the Wyoming/Nebraska border.
After that, the rest of the week turns windy, warm and very dry again. Stronger winds are possible Thursday and Friday, as temperatures climb back into the lower 70s around the Denver metro. With dry air and gusty winds, fire weather concerns will likely increase across the region through the end of the week and into next weekend.
The next cold front arrives Sunday, dropping daytime highs back to the 50s in Denver. We could see a few rain showers around town Sunday evening, but it won't be much. The unseasonably warm and dry weather returns again by the middle of next week.
