It's a gorgeous start to our week. We'll see mostly sunny skies and 60s as Denver Public School kids head back-to-school this morning!
More afternoon storms, with highs in the low 90s along the Front Range, are expected Monday. A few of those storms could turn severe, with gusty winds being one of the biggest threats. We could also see some larger hail on the far eastern plains.
A weak cold front will roll through within the next 24 hours. Tuesday and Wednesday will be slightly cooler, with temperatures closer to normal for this time of year. Storm chances will increase, especially Tuesday afternoon and evening, with a few storms potentially becoming severe. Wednesday could also see a few strong to severe storms, particularly along the I-25 Corridor and across the plains.
We'll see a good chance of afternoon storms through Thursday. Warmer and drier weather will settle in by the end of the week. Friday should be warmer, with temperatures climbing back into the low to mid-90s.
Looking ahead to next weekend, hotter weather will settle back in. Temperatures should remain above normal, while a few widely scattered showers and thunderstorms remain possible. Overall, the pattern looks to turn drier and warmer as we head toward the weekend.
