DENVER — Colorado Avalanche games have been postponed through at least Feb. 11 because of COVID-19 protocols.
The National Hockey League (NHL) announced the postponement Thursday due to players recently entering the NHL's COVID Protocol Related Absence List. The Avalanche's game against the Minnesota Wild was already postponed for Wild players being added to the same list Wednesday.
The Colorado Department of Health determined more caution was warranted while the parties are analyzing test results in the coming days. Colorado's training facilities have been closed, effective immediately, and will remain closed until further notice.
The NHL is in the process of reviewing and revising the Avalanche regular season schedule, and it is expected that a decision on next week’s games will be made in the coming days.
