DENVER – When you’re diagnosed with cancer, there’s a lot to think about.
One of the things cancer patients shouldn’t have to worry about is how to get to and from appointments with the doctor or treatments.

That’s where programs like the American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery enter the picture. There are 250 volunteer drivers in Colorado ready to help.
Driver Paul Musso found the program online in Colorado after returning from helping a friend with cancer in California.
“I flew out about every couple of weeks to help him out,” Musso said. “I realized that even a person with means couldn't manage transportation to his treatments and I thought 'wow I wonder if there's a program in Colorado or nationwide that provides transportation for cancer patients.'”
Paul drives about once a week, more often when he has time off from the school where he works.
“We've all had problems, we all know people with cancer. We all know people going through difficulties. Any little thing to help makes a huge difference,” he said.
Road to Recovery is one of the programs that will benefit from the funds raised in the Denver NovemBEARD fundraiser that Denver’s Jason Gruenauer and Russell Haythorn are taking part in.
