Democrats take control of state senate, voters defeat education and road funding bills

DENVER -- Colorado voters defeated proposals that would fund improvements to Colorado roads and classrooms in last Tuesday's election.

They also put enough Democrats in the state senate to give that party control of both houses of the state legislatures.
