DENVER — Fret not, Colorado. The rain the region receives this week will not persist through to Memorial Day, most likely.

Storms will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to the Denver metro area on Monday afternoon all through the evening, dropping up to half an inch of rain on the region.

Expect the same amount of rain to fall between Thursday and Friday, along with perhaps an inch of rain on Saturday and Sunday.

According to Denver7 Chief First Alert Meteorologist Mike Nelson, the region is returning to normalcy this week, with sunshine in the morning and scattered storms in the afternoon and evening.

The series of weather serves as a prelude to a warm and dry Memorial Day Monday with temperatures back in the 70's.

For Boulder Boulder runners, that means a dry day with temperatures in the 50's and 60's.
