The fire got too big, so crews had to fight from the outside.
“Due to the wind conditions we saw this afternoon, that wind started to push that fire," Pixley said. "And for the safety of our crew members we decided to pull them out."
The fire traveled through the building and burned through the roof.
"After we get all the hot spots and fires extinguished we’re going to send out fire investigators in to try to make a determination of what caused this fire," Pixley said.
He said he was not sure if the building was occupied, but no injuries have been reported as of Tuesday just before 10 p.m.
There are no reports that the building collapsed.
Pixley said investigators will talk with witnesses to determine what happened before and during the fire.
