The Salvation Army begins to register families for Christmas assistance

DENVER — Families who need help buying Christmas gifts for their children or paying for a warm Christmas meal can now sign up for help at six Salvation Army locations in the Denver Metro area.

Low-income families are often forced to choose between presents under the tree and a warm Christmas meal. To ensure they don’t have to make that choice, The Salvation Army is getting ready to distribute more than 22,000 toys and 4,500 boxes of food.

Parents are welcome to come to The Salvation Army at any of the following locations and times to register to receive Christmas assistance.

  • Nov. 6, 5-7 p.m.
  • Nov. 7, 9-11:30 a.m.
  • Nov. 8, 9-11:30 a.m.
  • Nov. 9, 5-7 p.m.
  • Nov. 10, 9-11:30 p.m.

  • Aurora Corps Community Center, 802 Quari Court, Aurora

A picture ID is required, as well as a 30-day current proof of address, like a utility bill or lease. A birth certificate or school records for all children in the home are also required. For more information, call 303-295-3366.
