A teenager who found herself caught in the middle of a massive crime scene during a Colorado Springs shooting rampage says the sound of gunfire was all too familiar.

"I knew it was going to happen, that it was going to be a shooting," said Miranda Schilter, a 17-year-old high school student, who was grocery shopping at a King Soopers across the street from Planned Parenthood last Friday. "The manager closed and locked one of the doors, and then we heard some gunshots. She yelled at everyone to come inside and so everyone ran inside and she closed the doors."

Schilter and dozens of others huddled inside the King Soopers for hours and saw one of the people wounded come inside.

"I thought he just had a bloody nose," said Schilter. "Then one of the employees came over to bring over a medical kit to him, and he lifted his shirt and he had some holes in his chest."

For Schilter, there must have been a sense of déjà vu.

Just a few weeks ago, the high school student witnessed another shooting while driving in Colorado Springs.

"We stopped at the red light, and this man was walking across the street with a gun, and I figured that it was Halloween, he was probably dressed up," Schilter remembered. "But then, some cop cars drove up, like, really fast, and they stopped and they yelled at him to drop his gun."

Schilter said she actually watched the gun fight as the man ran away.

Turns out, that gunman had just killed three people in his neighborhood before police shot and killed him.

"I was terrified. So, it was just unbelievable," said Schilter.

Back at the King Soopers where she was caught up in her second shooting, she was more calm.

"My dad didn't believe me at first. He thought I was joking, since what are the chances it is my second one in a month?" she asked, before saying something no 17-year-old should have to say. "The second one was easier, since it was farther away."
