DENVER -- There will be plenty of police activity at the new RTD commuter rail station at 41st Avenue and Fox Street in Denver Thursday afternoon.
The Regional Transportation District and the Transportation Security Administration is conducting a full-scale training exercise starting at noon Thursday.
The training scenario includes an active shooter and hostage situation. It is taking place at the future G Line 41st/Fox station.
Police will have the area blocked off during the entire exercise. Filming of the actual training is not allowed.
The drill will simulate real-life conditions to test coordination and communication between on-scene responders, RTD operations staff, RTD Transit Police and support personnel, according to RTD.
