If there were a real-life Whoville right now, Erie would probably be it.
Thieves in Erie are targeting laser projector Christmas lights, stealing from at least eight homes over the weekend, police said.
"When I called the police and did the report they said that I was at least the 6th person that had called," said Lisa Young, who found woke up over the weekend to find her Christmas decorations had disappeared.
A few blocks away, LeeAnn Kain didn't bother reporting the theft to police, but her lights were also stolen.
"We actually had them a week," said Kain. "We actually found them at King Soopers and paid 40 bucks a piece for them, so 80 bucks down the drain just like that."
We found the lights are now listed on Ebay for double or triple their sticker price.
Young still has the boxes hers came in -- she loved them because they were easy to put up. Unfortunately, also easy to take down.
"I wouldn't buy another $80 worth!" said Young, who is hoping the Grinch who took their holiday decor has a change of heart. "It's just really sad that I really felt like someone took a bit of our Christmas. I hope that someone decides to return them and do the right thing."
