DENVER -- A spring storm that moved into the area overnight caused several road closures up and down the Front Range, but one trucker apparently would have none of it.
The Colorado State Patrol arrested a truck driver for deliberately breaking through the road closure gate installed at the ramp from eastbound Interstate 70 from E-470.
The Colorado Department of Transportation closed I-70 from Denver to Limon Friday morning due to adverse conditions.
Witnesses told troopers that the driver tried to open the gate by hand, but when that didn’t work, he used his big rig as a battering ram.
The truck driver is facing a misdemeanor charge.
