BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — A convicted rapist will be staying at a Boulder homeless shelter after failed attempts to move him to two other Colorado cities following his release from prison.
The Daily Camera reported Monday that police say 42-year-old Christopher Lawyer has secured a parole bed at the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless. Officers are still working to determine how long Lawyer will be there.
Lawyer had initially petitioned to live in Jamestown upon his release from prison late last month. But the Colorado Department of Corrections rejected the move amid strong opposition from Jamestown residents.
Lawyer then moved to Longmont but police announced over the weekend he would not be living in the city anymore. Authorities did not offer an explanation for why he left Longmont.
