Coloradans are planting blue flags along Highway 285 this weekend to show their support for law enforcement, after Park County Cpl. Nate Carrigan lost his life while serving a high-risk eviction notice in the town of Bailey.

"This amazing support for law enforcement means the world to us," tweeted a deputy managing the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office twitter page on Saturday.

People were shown planting a "thin blue line" along the highway in posts made by the Sheriff's department Twitter and Facebook pages.

There are plans to continue putting up the blue flags along Highway 285 all the way to Kenosha Pass starting at 1 p.m. on Sunday, in honor of all those officers who have died in the line of duty.

"All of us in law enforcement are moved beyond words by the incredible support citizens are showing us in Park County today," the Sheriff's office posted on Facebook. "All we can say is thank you, thank you, thank you."
