Arapahoe Road will be closed in both directions beneath I-25 for 35 hours this weekend.
The closure will start at 10 p.m. Friday and run until 9 a.m. Sunday to allow crews to do major work on the bridge, according to Arapahoe County.
"Traffic will be detoured via I-25 south to Dry Creek Road for eastbound drivers and I-25 north to Orchard Road for westbound drivers," Arapahoe County explained on its website. "Northbound and southbound I-25 off-ramps will remain open but only right turns will be allowed."
During the closure, crews will also relocate utilities and complete paving work.
"Doing multiple activities during a single weekend closure will save approximately five nights of future overnight closures," Arapahoe County officials said.
The project will replace the I-25 bridge over Arapahoe Road and includes other interchange improvements. The project is expected to take two years.
