COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Memorial Day is not just a day off of work, it’s a day to reflect on those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
Four Fort Carson soldiers are among the thousands who lost their lives in support of overseas contingency operations and were honored at the Mountain Post Warrior ceremony Thursday.
The names of the four soldiers were inscribed on the memorial stones, which already holds the names of 395 servicemen and woman who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
The four Soldiers who joined the memorial are:
- Staff Sgt. Christopher A. Wilbur
- Staff Sgt. Adam S. Thomas
- Maj. Andrew D. Byers
- Sgt. 1st Class Ryan A. Gloyer
Maj. Gen. Ryan F. Gonsalves, 4th Infantry Division and Fort Carson commanding general, was the keynote speaker.
