GREELEY, Colo. – Police are looking for up to six people wanted in connection with a shooting that left a man dead in Greeley overnight.

Greeley Police Department officers responded to reports of a possible shooting at an apartment complex near the intersection of 26th Avenue and W. 13th St. at around 12:40 a.m. Saturday.

Arriving officers found a man who had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. He was immediately taken to North Colorado Medical Center, but was pronounced deceased at about 1:15 a.m., Sgt. J.P. Tymkowych of the Greeley Police Department said in a press release.

Witnesses told police that “some sort of dispute” was heard near the entrance to the apartment complex and, during the disturbance, the victim was shot.

Police do not have a complete profile of the suspect, only saying he is reportedly described as a Hispanic man in his late teens.

Investigators also said there were “apparently four or five other males about the same age with the suspect,” at the time of the shooting.

The victim’s name will not be released pending notification to family members from the Weld County Coroner’s Office.
