When Denver7 started honoring 7Everyday Heroes 20 years ago, we got a call from a loyal viewer. He loved the stories, but not necessarily the plaque we were using to honor outstanding volunteers.

"I just wanted to do something that looked better than the old wood plaques," said Brian Hart.

Hart opened Frame de Art frame store near the University of Denver 27 years ago on March 15, 1991. It was his wife's birthday. Today, the store is on Broadway in Englewood. And it has grown.

Frame de Art is the preferred frame store for the Broncos, Rockies, the Nuggets, the Avalanche, University of Colorado, Colorado State University and Denver University.

"We framed Peyton Manning jerseys for his retirement party," Hart said.

The business is also the official framer for the Denver Outlaws, and sponsors several high-profile events.

"We sponsor Pedals the Plains, Ride the Rockies and the Denver Century Ride," Hart said. "We are also the official framer for the Cherry Creek Arts Festival for the last four years."

When Hart called Denver7 20 years ago, he offered to help by supplying beautiful, custom frames for 7Everyday Heroes. Since then, he has provided more than 50 frames each year, for free.

"I think it's important for a small business to give back to the community," he said. "I love to show what small businesses can do."
