Photo by: Leah Walter I finally made it to Lone Eagle Peak yesterday! I have been waiting all summer to knock this off my bucket list. Started the 16 mile journey at 5 AM and had to hike the first 4 miles in complete darkness with nothing but a flashlight. I ended up running into a bull moose in the middle of trail which was both a cool and scary surprise. I eventually made it to Crater Lake around 9 AM, just in time to get this shot. By 9:30 AM, the sun finally came out from behind the mountains and everything was overexposed. Overall - this was a very beautiful hike and the longest I’ve ever done. My back and feet hate me but it was worth it!
