Every weekend, Denver7 compiles a list of some family friendly events you might enjoy.  Here are our picks for the 7 best things to do in Denver this weekend.

Denver March Powwow

What: Celebrate the American Indian heritage amongst 1,000 tribal dancers and 35 drum groups representing 95 tribes from 33 states and six Canadian provinces.  Browse over 180 booths selling authentic American Indian arts and crafts.  Other attractions include traditional tribal storytelling, contemporary hip-hop dance and delicious Indian fry bread.

Where: Denver Coliseum, 4600 Humboldt Street, Denver, Colo.

When: Friday and Saturday: 10 a.m.-10:30 p.m.; Sunday: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Admission: $7 – Adults; $3 – Seniors; Kids 6 years and under are free.

Beautiful Junk Sale

What: One person’s junk is another person’s treasure.  Thousands flock to this annual sale, with over 10,500 square feet of items on display including jewelry, collectibles, vintage odds and ends, sporting goods, holiday décor and more.  There will be something for everyone.  All proceeds benefit the Jeffco Action Center.

Where: Jefferson County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall, 15200 West 6th Avenue, Golden, Colo.

When:  Friday: 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday: 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Admission:  $4 - Adults; Kids under 16 years are free. (Bring two or more non-perishable food donations to receive $1 off admission.)

Colorado Eagles vs. Utah Grizzlies

What: The Colorado Eagles have clinched a spot in the playoffs for the 14th consecutive year but now the battle is on for seeding.  Be a part of the action and cheer on our ECHL hometown hockey team as they are back on home ice to face the Utah Grizzlies this Friday and Saturday night.

Kids Day at Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum

What:  Perfect for the little pilots and astronauts of the future.  Not only will this educational event be filled with aerospace and aviation-themed activities, kids will get to do cool things like sit in the pilot seat of some of the planes, explore the museum’s hidden secrets, watch a magic show, and much more. 

Where: Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum, 7711 E. Academy Blvd., Denver, Colo.

Mountain Fest 2017

What: Spend the afternoon getting motivated and preparing for year-round mountain adventures.  This free event is your gateway to the outdoors, featuring skills clinics from climbing 14’ers and compass navigation to wilderness first aid and avalanche education.  Plus, gear demos, open climbing on an indoor rock wall, tours of the American Mountaineering Museum, and an expo highlighting the programs offered through Colorado Mountain Club.

Denver Children’s Theatre Presents The Jungle Book

What: In celebration of its 20th Anniversary, the Denver Children’s Theatre presents The Jungle Book. Based on the popular children’s tale by Rudyard Kipling, this live stage production will be presented to public audiences on Sundays throughout April. Featuring local professional actors, the award-winning Denver Children’s Theatre has a rich heritage of producing quality theatre for young audiences. This performance will be best enjoyed by kids six years and older, but all ages are welcome.

Where: Elaine Wolf Theatre at Mizel Arts and Culture Center, 350 S. Dahlia Street, Denver, Colo.
