DENVER — With a goal to collect 60 tons of food for hungry individuals and families across the state, Feed Colorado is now in its 22nd year.

Arc Thrift Stores and Denver7 are proud to partner on this campaign, which helps Colorado families and seniors who suffer from food insecurity. Food and funds raised go to Volunteers of America’s Hunger Services Programs, including Meals on Wheels.

The past two years have been particularly challenging for everyone, and the need for food and other donations to support vulnerable Coloradans continues to be of vital importance.

Donations of nonperishable food items, such as canned soup, vegetables, beans and fruit, and dry goods such as rice, pasta, and cereal, are needed.

Donors can also call (303) 238-5263 to have a food donation included in an at-home pickup of large furniture.

Today on March 31 between 4 and 6:30 p.m. Denver7 is also hosting a phone bank to accept monetary donations. You can call (303)-777-7492 to join other Coloradans.

BOK Financial is also taking donations at all bank locations. Customers can donate with BOK tellers or by dropping off goods at designated barrels located at each branch. There are 14 BOK branches in Colorado.

Financial donations can also be made online.

Since 2005, Arc has collected 3.8 million pounds of food for food-insecure Coloradans.

“Every year the people of Colorado amaze me,” said Lloyd Lewis, president and CEO of Arc Thrift Stores. “We come together. We are supportive and compassionate. Donating to Feed Colorado is a powerful way to help others in need, those that are vulnerable and at-risk. The generosity of our partners and of the people of Colorado is helping us achieve our goal and making an enormous difference to so many people in our community.”

“The Feed Colorado food drive continues to play a crucial role in addressing the issue of food insecurity in our state,” said Dean Littleton, VP/General Manager of Denver7. “We are proud to continue our partnership with Arc Thrift Stores and Volunteers of America, using our platforms to encourage our generous community to donate food and funds to help ensure no one in our community has to worry about where their next meal will come from.”

“Food insecurity has long been a problem in our state for far too many families and seniors. As the pandemic continues on, our neighbors need our help now more than ever,” said Dave Schunk, president and CEO of Volunteers of America Colorado. “On behalf of the thousands of Coloradans who will benefit from the Feed Colorado Food Drive, we are grateful to our partners — Arc Thrift Stores, Denver7 and BOK — for their support raising awareness and collecting much needed food and funds.”
