DENVER -- The City of Denver could have the lowest amount of snow ever recorded at the end of this season, according to records from the National Weather Service.
One of the least snowy seasons in Denver was recorded in 1884 with just 21.3 inches of snowfall. Denver currently has 19.3 inches accumulated at Denver International Airport.
The average seasonal snowfall is 57 inches for DIA.
The seasonal measurements go through the end of May, so Denver still has some time to get a little more snowfall, but according to Denver7 First Alert Meteorologist Stacey Donaldson, "it doesn't look like we'll come close to the average seasonal snowfall this year -- and we will actually go down in the record books with one of the least snowy seasons ever."
Donaldson added that even if Denver were to be hit with a blizzard like the one from 2003, where the city saw 35.2 inches of total snowfall, the city would be hard-pressed to end up where we should be for this time of year.
The forecast for the next few weeks does include some rain and snow moving through the state, but it's yet to be seen if that will help with the overall snow totals here in Denver.
