DENVER — A cold front is racing through Colorado tonight bringing rain, snow thunderstorms, hail and strong winds to the plains and snow to the mountains.

The north winds will pick up tonight. A high wind warning is in effect tonight for all of northeastern Colorado and the Denver metro area. The winds could gust up to 60 mph overnight into early Tuesday morning.

Rain and thunderstorms along the Front Range tonight and a rain/snow mix above 7,000 feet. Expect 3 to 6 inches of snow above 10,000 feet across the northern and central mountains.

On the plains, an inch or more of rain is likely! Good news as conditions have been way too dry lately.

Skies will clear from west to east Tuesday, but windy and cool conditions will continue with highs staying in the 60s in the Denver area.

Enjoy the cool weather while it's here — temperatures will be back to 90-plus degrees by the end of the week.
