DENVER - Temperatures reached the low 70s over southeastern Colorado Tuesday afternoon, while the Denver area had readings in the mid to upper 50s.
A cold front will move into Colorado tonight. Some snow will develop in the mountains, with 1 to 2 inches possible by Wednesday morning.
The cold front will move across Colorado early Wednesday, bringing northeast winds, colder temperatures and a couple inches of snow for the mountains. Denver and the eastern plains should see some late afternoon snow-showers, but temperatures will be warmer than last week when the roads turned icy.
Highs will be in the middle 40s around midday Wednesday in Denver, with 30s to low 40s in the mountains. Snow-showers will cause some wet roads in the evening, but temperatures will probably be a little too warm for icy conditions. Skies will clear Wednesday night with lows in the single digits and teens in the mountains and low 20s for Denver.
Temperatures will rebound nicely after this storm. Highs in Denver will be back to the low 50s on Thursday and will reach the low 60s degrees on Friday.
Saturday will be windy, warm and dry across Colorado. Temperatures will climb into the 40s in the mountains with low to mid-60s for Denver. Southeastern Colorado should see highs back to around 70 degrees.
Another cold front will move into Colorado late Sunday, bringing an increase in clouds and a chance for snow later in the day. Highs will drop back to the 40s in Denver.
Monday will be chilly with some light snow showers. Highs will be in the 40s.
Snow has been scarce this season with only seen 19.4" of snow at Denver International Airport - about half normal at this point in the season.
In the mountains, the snow-pack is roughly at 75% of normal for the season, with the southern mountain areas in the worst shape. The recent storms are helping, but we could use several more good snowstorms!
