DENVER —   Nice warm weather in place for the Front Range the next few days. HIghs were in the upper 70s and low 80s around Denver Wednesday afternoon. It will be mild and dry throughout the evening with lows in the 50s and partly cloudy skies.

Tomorrow will be even warmer!  We'll see mid- to upper 80s across northeastern Colorado and mid-to upper 90s across the southeastern corner of the state!  Winds will increase on Thursday and the fire danger will be high once again.  No rain is expected on either day, just some high, thin cirrus clouds.

A storm system will begin to move into Colorado on Friday.  Clouds will increase, temperatures will be a little cooler and there will be a chance for showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.  Recent storms have had some great timing, arriving mid-week and leaving by the weekend - not so this time!

Much cooler weather will arrive for the Mother's Day Weekend.  High temperatures will only be in the upper 50s and low 60s for Saturday and Sunday.  Showers will be likely both days with wet snow falling in the mountains where 6 to 10 inches will be possible above 10,000 feet.

Although the timing of this storm is not great for weekend outdoor plans, this next system does not look to be a "tree buster" with heavy snow in the metro area. Instead, a cool rain is expected that will possibly bring an inch of very welcome water - helping to ease the dryness and make mom's garden grow!
