DENVER -- Sunday will start off dry and mostly sunny in Denver. Through the afternoon, storms develop in the mountains and foothills, then are expected to roll across the metro-area into the evening hours.

Gusty winds and pockets of moderate to heavy rainfall are possible. Highs will be cooler, in the upper 70s to low 80s. There is a marginal risk of severe weather over the northeastern corner of the state.

Widespread moisture is expected in the mountains. Storms will also continue across southwestern and southern Colorado, with pockets of heavy rain.

Rain will be great for our state, but there is a threat for flash-flooding near land burned by recent fires. A flash flood watch is in effect Sunday near the 416 burn scar, the Spring fire burn scar, and the Lake Christine burn scar near Basalt.

There will be another round of storms across the Metro Area on Monday. Highs will stay in the mid 80s.

Tuesday through the majority of next week looks mostly dry and increasingly warm. Highs will be in the low to upper 90s through the end of the week.
