DENVER — The thick smoke and haze continues across much of Colorado, especially east of the Divide and along the I-25 Corridor.
Good news, the hazy conditions will gradually improve. By this afternoon, the skies should clear considerably. A few thunderstorms will develop on Saturday, mainly in the mountains and foothills. Rain chances will stay in the 10% to 20% range.
Highs this afternoon will climb to the low 90s in Denver. The mountains will see pretty pleasant readings, in the 70s to low 80s.
Through Sunday, warm and mainly dry weather is expected with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s for lower elevations and 70s to low 80s in the mountains. Just a few thunderstorms will be possible over the mountains and will produce lightning and wind as opposed to heavy rainfall.
The storms will primarily bring wind and lightning and little moisture. The low levels of the atmosphere remain pretty dry and the lack of humidity will mean rainfall will not be widespread or heavy.
The warm weather will continue Monday with mainly dry conditions statewide. Some thunderstorms will be possible by next Tuesday with slightly cooler temperatures.
