More cold weather will cover Colorado tonight and Friday. Lows will be around 10 degrees in Denver, with highs low 20s tomorrow. Wind chills across eastern Colorado will be zero to 10 below!
A new storm will swirl across southwestern Colorado tonight and Friday and bring five to 10 inches of snow to the central and southwest mountains. Northern mountain areas will get one to two inches of snow and just a few flurries will be possible in Denver and across the eastern plains.
Friday night, temperatures will plummet to the single digits and low teens across the metro-area. Wind chill values will feel as low as -5 over the plains. Bundle up and stay warm.
Saturday and Sunday will be dry, with a slow warming trend. Temperatures will be in the low to mid-30s on Saturday in Denver, with 20s in the mountains. Sunday will be in the low to mid-40s across the I-25 Corridor with upper 20s in the mountains.
A strong cold front will slice into Colorado Sunday night and bring snow to much of the state by early Monday. This front will carry plenty of cold air, but limited moisture. The mountains should get 4 to 8 inches of fresh powder for Monday morning. Denver and the eastern plains might see 1 to 3 inches of snow by midday on Monday.
The weather will turn very cold Monday night and New Year's Day. Lows will be 10 to 20 below zero in the mountains and zero to 5 above in Denver New Years morning.
The cold will not last long, mild and dry weather will return by the middle of next week with highs near 50 degrees by Thursday.
