DENVER — Fall is finally in the air! It was pretty chilly across the state Tuesday morning, with upper 30s to low 40s on the plains and upper 20s to low 30s in the mountains.  We hit a low of 36 degrees and Denver International Airport, making it the coldest morning since late April!

Highs on Tuesday were in the mid 60s across the Denver Metro area. It's the first day we've been below normal in 17 days. (normal high is 75 degrees)

Temperatures will slowly warm through the middle of the week with highs in the middle 70s on Wednesday and around 80 degrees on Thursday. Friday will be slightly cooler with an increase in clouds. Highs in Denver and along the I-25 Corridor will be in the low to mid-70s.

Next weekend should be very nice as September draws to a close. Expect sunny to partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees for Denver. The mountains will be dry, with highs in the 60s.

The aspens remain pretty in the mountains! The central and southern mountain areas will be reaching peak color for the next five to seven days. Northern areas are past peak, but still feature some pretty pockets of color.
