DENVER — Sunny skies and warm weather early in the week in Denver. But snow will be returning Wednesday night and early Thursday. Highs hit the low 60s in Denver Monday afternoon, quite change from last Monday when the morning low was 16 degrees below zero!

Gusty west winds and low humidity meant that the Saturday night snow disappeared quickly around the area. Lows overnight will stay mild with readings around 30 degrees in the Denver area and in the 20s in the mountains. There could be some locally icy road conditions as melted snow re-freezes early Tuesday,

Tuesday will be another windy , warm and dry day across Colorado. Highs will reach the upper 50s to near 60 again in the Denver area, with mid-to upper 60s over the far eastern plains. In the mountains, highs will be in the upper 30s to mid-40s with mostly sunny, but windy conditions.

The next storm will hit Wednesday as a cold front slides across Colorado. It will be dry in the morning, but clouds will increase and snow will develop later in the day. Temperatures will turn colder as highs will drop back to the 30s.

The main timing for the next snow will be Wednesday night through early Thursday. The morning commute will be the most affected with slushy and slick roads early Thursday.

Thursday afternoon will be clear and cool with highs in the 30s. Milder weather will return on Friday with highs in the 40s.

Saturday will be dry and cool, followed by another chance for snow next Sunday.
