DENVER, Colo. —High Fire Danger will increase into Sunday for the eastern half of Colorado with a Red Flag Warning in effect from noon to 8pm Sunday night.
High winds will pick up on Sunday afternoon and could gust up to 50 mph.
Areas of smoke and haze will continue to impact portions of northern and eastern Colorado with areas downwind from the Cameron Peak Fire and the Mullen Fire particularly impacted. Air quality advisories are in place for the Front Range Friday as conditions are unhealthy for sensitive groups.
With the passage of a cold front, temperatures will drop into the 40s and 50s for highs in the mountains on Sunday. There will also be rain and snow developing into the afternoon and evening. At this time, the storm will probably bring snow to elevations above 8,000 feet and rain to lower elevations.
Fall color remains good to spectacular across the Colorado high country. Northern areas are now past peak, but still worth a look. Central and southern Colorado are very colorful. With mild, dry and quiet weather, it is ideal for checking out the lovely leaves!
Skies will clear on Tuesday, with some gusty winds and highs around 70 degrees.
