DENVER — Warm and dry weather has returned to Colorado for this week. Expect temperatures about 5 to 10 degrees above normal through Saturday, with no moisture expected.

Skies will be clear this evening and tonight with lows in the low to mid-50s on the plains and upper 30s to mid-40s in the mountains.

Tuesday will be even warmer. The record high for Denver on September 15th is 94 degrees, set in 2018 and the forecast is for a high of 90!

By the way, if the high does hit 90 degrees, it will mark the 74th day of 90 degrees or higher this year - beating the old mark of 73 days, set in 2012.

Temperatures will stay in the upper 80s Wednesday and Thursday and drop to the low 80s by the end of the week, with 70s by Sunday. A few showers will be possible on Sunday.

The recent cooler and wetter weather did ease fire danger somewhat across Colorado, but the return to hot and dry conditions means we still have to be extremely careful!

Our skies have been clearer lately, but more smoke will return to the skies by Wednesday and Thursday - mostly coming from the fires that continue on the West Coast.
