DENVER — Spring began in style at 3:58 p.m on Wednesday! Temperatures in the mid 50s to low 60s under sunny skies, made for a perfect start to the season! In the mountains, bright blue skies and temperatures in the middle 30s to low 40s made it equally delightful.
Clear skies and a big, bright full moon made for a pleasant night. Lows in the upper 20s to low 30s on the plains and in the teens in the mountains. High clouds will increase from the southwest across the state
A storm system will spread rain and snow over southwestern Colorado and a Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the San Juan Mountains for 6 to 10 inches of snow above 10,000 feet. Temperatures will be mild with highs in the 40s in the mountains and 50s to low 60s across the eastern plains.
The next storm system will swirl toward the northeast and moves across Colorado on Friday. Snow can be expected in the mountains with some thunder mixed in - a true sign of Spring in Colorado. On the plains, mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers and thunderstorms can be expected. Temperatures will be a little cooler with highs in the 30s to low 40s in the mountains and 50s to low 60s on the plains.
The first weekend in spring will be mostly cloudy with a chance for snow showers in the mountains and some scattered showers in Denver and across the eastern plains, Temperatures will stay mild with highs in the 50s to low 60s for lower elevations and upper 30s to low 40s in the mountains.
Next week will see more warm early Spring weather with highs in the 60s to low 70s in Denver by mid-week. Late next week, expect a return to a snowy pattern for the mountains and for Denver and the eastern plains. For now, just enjoy a quiet stretch of weather!
