DENVER — A slow moving storm system is bringing fog, rain, thunderstorms and snow to Colorado!
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue across eastern Colorado overnight. Areas of dense fog will spread over the eastern plains, including the Denver area. Visibility will drop to just 100-200 yards at times through 9 AM. Temperatures will be cold with readings in the 40s.
Chilly and unsettled weather will stick around through Friday with temperatures well below normal for early May. Snow will fall in the mountains with 8 to 12 inches likely Wednesday through Thursday. Some parts of the central and southwest mountains may receive 12 to 20 inches of snow!
Wednesday will be unseasonably cold with temperatures in the mid 40s in Denver and the rain will change to snow late Wednesday and early Thursday. While 8 to 12 inches of snow will fall in the mountains, Denver should see 1 to 2 inch accumulations on grassy areas, with 3 to 6 inches over the southern and western suburbs above 6,000 feet.
Roads will be snow-covered and slippery in the mountains and slushy in the Denver area for the Thursday morning drive.
The weather will stay cool and unsettled Thursday with more showers and highs in the low 40s.
Friday will remain cool with some lingering showers and highs in the upper 50s.
Finally on Saturday, skies are expected to clear out, with temperatures returning to around 60 degrees.
Sunday and Monday will be dry and warmer with highs in the 70s! The next chance for storms will arrive on Tuesday.
