DENVER — The Monday morning snow storm dropped 3 to nearly 12 inches of snow over parts of the Denver Metro area and the I-25 Corridor. The amounts varied greatly as the storm was rather "squally" in nature and left behind several bands of locally heavy snow.
The main concern now will be the very cold temperatures and the re-freezing of secondary and residential streets and sidewalks. Be careful as the icy spots and stretches will be numerous through early morning.
Low temperatures will be in the single digits and low teens across the Front Range and plains. In the mountains, lows will range from 10-15 below zero in the high valleys to single digits in areas with a little more wind - of course that means the wind chill will be a concern.
After a very cold morning, temperatures will slowly warm up for the rest of the week with dry conditions. Temperatures will climb into the mid-to upper 30s on Tuesday, followed by mid-to upper 40s on Wednesday.
Highs in the 50s are expected Thursday and Friday, with some increase in clouds and a chance for a little mountain snow by Friday - mainly over the southern mountain ranges.
Saturday will be mild, with increasing clouds and highs in the 50s for Denver and the eastern plains.
Colder weather and a chance for some snow will return on Sunday.
