DENVER —  Mild and dry conditions can be expected across Colorado for this next couple of days leading up to Thanksgiving.

Wednesday should be mild and dry. Highs will be near 60 degrees on Wednesday, under a mostly sunny sky.  The mild weather will continue over the eastern plains for Thanksgiving with highs again near 60 degrees.

A storm system off the West Coast will begin to move into the central Rockies on Thanksgiving Day. Clouds will increase in the mountains and over western Colorado with some rain and snow developing by evening.

Snow will increase in the mountains on Friday, while clouds begin to increase for Denver and the eastern plains. Friday will still be mild over eastern Colorado, with highs in the low to mid-50s.

The holiday weekend will feature some really great skiing thanks to the combination of recent snowfall and the addition of 6 to 12 inches of fresh powder from the stormy pattern beginning late Thursday.

For Denver and the eastern plains, Saturday will be windy and colder with snow likely.  The amounts will not be heavy, but a few inches will be possible through the day.

Skies will clear on Sunday, but temperatures will remain chilly — in the middle 30s to low 40s on the plains and 30s in the mountains.  Gusty northwest winds will make it feel colder, so bundle up for the Bronco game or any other outdoors activities

More snow will be likely next week as the weather pattern remains active over the western United States.  By the middle to end of next week a series of storms will bring more snow to the mountains and possibly to the Denver area.
