DENVER — Highs for Denver were again near 60 degrees for our Sunday afternoon, but winds will pick up Monday. A High Wind Warning has been issued for the Front Range and eastern mountains for possible wind gusts between 60-100 mph. A High Wind Watch has been issued for the Denver metro area and northeast Colorado, expecting gusts around 60 mph. Sustained winds for Monday will be around 40-50 mph with higher gusts at times.

Temperatures still remain above normal, in the mid to upper 50s over the Front Range and plains. After a gusty start to the week, expect more mild and dry weather through Friday.

A westerly flow aloft continues to block the colder Arctic air masses from moving into Colorado. Mild air masses from the Pacific will continue to move across the state. We will keep an eye out for any pattern changes, but for now - January Thaw!
