DENVER --
Thunderstorms brought strong winds to parts of the Denver Metro area Wednesday evening, with gusts near 60 mph reported in Ken Caryl and Lakewood. On the eastern plains, the storms dumped large hail up to baseball size in rural Weld and Logan counties!
The storms will gradually end across northeastern Colorado overnight, with partly cloudy skies expected by early Thursday.
Temperatures will be staying mild across Colorado. Lows will be in the upper 50s to low 60s for Denver and the eastern plains, 40s to near 50 degrees in the mountains and 50s for the western valleys.
The overall weather pattern will not change much Thursday through the weekend. Highs will be in the 90s for Denver and the eastern plains. Mountain areas will be in the 80s by day and drop to the 40s overnight. Skies will be sunny in the morning, with a few thunderstorms developing in the afternoon.
Be sure to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and be careful with any outdoor burning during this hot and dry period.
A cooler weather pattern will move back into the central Rockies early next week with a little better chance for some showers and thunderstorms.
