DENVER — Sunday's temperatures climbed to the upper 80s and low 90s across the metro-area. We picked up a few scattered gusty thunderstorms and showers. The risk for any severe weather is low tonight over the state.
Skies clear overnight across Colorado and the heat intensifies on Monday. Highs in the mid to upper 90s are expected for the Denver-area, with triple digit highs expected over the southeastern corner of the state.
Dry conditions are in store for all of eastern Colorado to start the week, with increased fire danger and gusty winds over portions of the eastern plains and Western Slope. A few showers and storms will be possible over our northern mountains Monday.
Tuesday, our next front will drop our highs in Denver to the low 80s and increase our chance for thunderstorm activity. Some severe storms will be possible.
Drier and warm on Wednesday, with highs in the mid-80s. 90s for highs return for the remainder of the week.
As of now, our 4th of July holiday weekend is looking mostly sunny and toasty! Highs will be near 90 both Saturday and Sunday, with the slight chance for scattered afternoon and evening storms. Stay tuned!
