Getting hotter for Denver the next few days

DENVER — Afternoon highs will return to the 90s for the next few afternoons (that taste of fall was quick! ) across the Front Range.

The air over our state is pretty dry, so rain chances are low through Thursday. The lower humidity does mean that nighttime lows will be cool in the high country — lows in the upper 30s to low 40s and comfortable on the plains, with mid 50s.

Our next cold front will swing through later this week. Scattered thunderstorms will return for Friday and Saturday with highs in the low to mid 80s.

Sunday and Labor Day Monday will be hot and dry, with low 90s in store for the Denver area.
