DENVER: A strong band of jet stream winds will sweep a couple of cold fronts across Colorado over the next several days.

The mountains will continue to see more snow and strong winds. Winter Storm Warnings and Avalanche Warnings are in effect as another 10 to 15 inches of snow may accumulate by Saturday in the northern and central mountains.

It will stay dry in Denver and across the plains through most of Friday, but there is a chance of light snow over the northeast corner of the state late Friday and early Saturday. At this point, it only looks like the Denver area would only see a few flurries.

Temperatures will be in the mid-40s on Friday but then cool into the upper 30s on Saturday. The mountains will stay in the 20s with gusty winds.

Sunday will be sunny and milder with highs in the 30s in the mountains and upper 40s to low 50s.

Looking ahead, another cold front will bring cold weather and light snow starting Monday and continued on Tuesday. So far, Denver has only seen about 20 inches of snow so far this season - well below normal.

Temperatures will stay cold with a chance for more snow by next Thursday.
