DENVER — Highs on Thursday were hot! Highs soared to the mid 90s for metro Denver, with plenty of sunshine. Our official high of 95 degrees at DIA was only 3 degrees lower than the record for the day.
By Friday and Saturday, a minor storm system will slip into Colorado and bring higher humidity and a good chance for thunderstorms to Denver and the Eastern Plains both afternoons.
Highs on Friday will climb to the upper 80s, with about a 40% chance of afternoon storms. A similar weather pattern is expected for Saturday, with a few storm cells likely to produce areas of heavy rain, hail and gusty winds.
Sunday and early next week will turn hot and dry again with highs bouncing back to the low to mid 90s.
