DENVER —   Warmer and drier weather will cover Colorado through the weekend.  Highs reached the mid 70s on Saturday afternoon. For Sunday, we'll have mostly sunny skies and highs in the 70s around Denver, and 50s to low 60s in the mountains.

A few gusty thunderstorms will be possible in the mountains and foothills on Sunday, but these storms will produce mainly wind and lightning and not much rain.  There is a slight chance that one or two of these will roll east over the I-25 corridor.

A weak storm system will move into the central Rockies Monday, bringing a better chance for showers and thunderstorms Monday afternoon and again on Tuesday.  Temperatures will remain close to normal for early May with 70s on the plains and upper 50s to mid-60s in the mountains.

Warm and pleasant weather will return for the middle of next week.
