DENVER — As a cold front moved through Colorado and the Front Range this afternoon, our temperatures are dropped quickly. We fell from mid 70s to the 50s in the afternoon. Scattered showers and storms are moving through tonight.

A stronger storm system is set to impact the region over the weekend into early next week.  This is why we have issued a First Alert Action Day from Saturday night through Tuesday morning. Showers will develop on Sunday.  This storm will be colder and will bring rain and snow to the mountains over the weekend as well.

Temperatures in Denver will be cooler all weekend with upper 50s to low 60s on Saturday (mostly cloudy) and just in the 50s on Sunday (rainy). In the mountains, temperatures will be in the upper 30s to middle 40s this weekend with a mix of rain and snow in the valleys and snow above 10,000 feet.

Depending on the track of the storm, there could be some rain and snow mixed in Denver Tuesday morning!  Monday and Tuesday will be quite cool with morning lows in the 30s and highs in the 50s.
