DENVER — Monday has been a sizzler with mostly sunny, but hazy, skies and highs in the low to mid 90s in the Denver area.

The weather will remain hot and dry across Colorado through Wednesday. High temperatures will be about 10 to 15 degrees above normal again on Tuesday. There will be very little storm activity tonight or tomorrow, with just isolated high-based gusty thunderstorms possible.

Skies will stay rather hazy, thanks to smoke from several wildfires across southwestern Colorado and Arizona.

Fire danger is elevated through Tuesday across a good portion of the state. Please adhere to any fire bans or restrictions. Temperatures will be in the 90s through Wednesday across the plains, with primarily 70s and a few 80s in the mountains.

There will be a nice cool-down later this week as a cold front slips from the Pacific Northwest into the central Rockies. Temperatures will drop back to the upper 70s to middle 80s by Thursday and Friday and will remain closer to seasonal norms through the weekend.

The best chance for storms appears to be on Friday and Saturday, but the overall weather pattern is remaining quite dry across the central Rockies and the high plains. Any moisture we can get will be very welcome!
