DENVER — A Weather Action Day is in effect tonight for the hot and hazy conditions we'll see along the Front Range.

Air Quality Warnings have been issued for the Front Range and much of the eastern Colorado as smoke from the western wildfires returns to the area.

People with respiratory conditions should try to avoid being outdoors for extended periods of time and stay indoors when possible.

A weak cold front ushered in some cooler air yesterday, but we were back in the mid to upper 80s across the plains today. The mountains had hazy skies and highs in the 70s.

Tomorrow will be just as warm and dry across the state.

Expect a slight drop in temperatures this weekend, with mid 80s Saturday, then upper 70s to low 80s on Sunday. A few showers will be possible on Sunday, which will be a welcome sight with our worsening drought conditions.

The recent cooler and wetter weather did ease fire danger somewhat across Colorado, but the return to hot and dry conditions means we still have to be extremely careful!
