DENVER — Hot temperatures covered Colorado again Thursday with highs in the low to mid-90s, the 9th day of 90 degree temperatures so far this season in Denver. A few thunderstorms rumbled across the eastern plains, skies will be clearing overnight. Temperatures will cool to the comfortable upper 50s by early Friday.
The overall weather pattern will not change much through the weekend. Highs will be in the 90s for Denver and the eastern plains. Mountain areas will be in the 80s by day and drop to the 40s overnight.
Skies will be sunny in the morning, with a few thunderstorms developing in the afternoon. Be sure to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and be careful with any outdoor burning during this hot and dry period.
A cooler weather pattern will move back into the central Rockies early next week as a cold front moves through the region. Monday and Tuesday will be dry and pleasant with highs in the 80s.
Moisture will return to Colorado by Wednesday and Thursday with a good chance for showers and thunderstorms.
